Our academic staff are actively involved in research in their own fields, as well as supervising postgraduate students. Research staff are attached to specific institutes and are often drawn from among our postgraduate students.

Staff publications reflect the interdisciplinary orientation of the department, and include work on: religion and society, religion and globalisation, religion and post/modernity, religion and popular culture, gender and religion, religion and violence, religion and representation, and religion and postcolonial theory.
